Plastic Enclosures
The Finest Custom Plastic Enclosures Available… and No Tooling or Molds Required!
Now you have a solution for your prototyping and short-run needs. Now you can better service your customers with a technology designed expressly for rapid and frequent changes during product development. It’s Buckeye Shapeform’s Plastic Enclosure technology.
How often do you find yourself refining products mid-stage…perhaps changing internal components and configurations to meet customers' new demands and specifications? Perhaps you’ve got a program that needs an attractive, clean design for a product with a small run. Working through these situations with molds and traditional tooling is time-intensive and costly.
Instead, Buckeye’s Plastic Enclosure Technology solves these issues by providing you an integrated manufacturing process that produces quality plastic cases, built to your unique specifications. Our Buckeye Plastic Enclosure technology boxes have the finish, durability, and ready-for-market appearance of injected molded parts, but give you and your customers much more flexibility in the real-world, stop-and-go-and-change-it-again environment of design, development and manufacturing.
Buckeye’s Plastic Enclosure technology manufacturing process is the perfect alternative to injection molding, thermoforming, vacuum forming and pressure forming.
Plastic Enclosure Technology
Advanced technology built in from the very start – No tooling or molds required!
Applying the Best Science Buckeye Plastic Enclosure Technology represents the successful transfer of the very best sheet metal cutting, bending and forming techniques to an extruded plastic sheet. Our highly efficient process begins with an advanced design that integrates an orderly progression of assembly, involving the installation of precision snaps, interlocks and joints.
Custom Configurations Working with our engineers, you’ll be able to take advantage of this unique process, which utilizes leading CAM software, custom 3-axis CNC routers, automated heat bending machines to produce configurations of virtually any kind.
Here are some examples of our customer’s custom configurations:
Industrial processing equipment Medical and dental equipment Automated PCB and process equipment Enclosures that would typically be structural foam (if injection molds were more affordable) Electronic and computing applications (flat-screen LCD enclosures and other technology)
Design Elements Buckeye Shapeform’s Plastic Enclosures incorporate specially designed joints, edges, snaps and interlocks. These elements are programmed into our proprietary software, eliminating the need to “repeat the wheel” for each product design. Features we can build into your design include:
Tongue and groove joints Small and large radius bends Edge chambers, reveals, and radii Snap joints and catches Hinges and interlocks Sliding panels Label recesses
Material Thickness and Tolerances Here are our specifications for Plastic Enclosure material thickness:
ABS – general purpose and fire retardant, all thicknesses: +/- 10% High Impace Polystyrene (HIPS): 3mm, 6mm, and 10mm Polycarbonate & Acrylic: 0.060 inches and above Kydex (PVC/Acrylic blend, FR94-V0): 0.125” thickness and above
Here are our Plastic Enclosure tolerances:
Machining tolerances: +/- 0.010” Angular tolerances: +/- .05 degrees
